Finally, I found the time to check out one of the major tourist attractions in town:
Wat Po is famous for its huge, lying, golden Buddha. As the oldest monastery of BKK it was built in the 17th century and is still the widest of the whole town.

Bangkok has a lot to offer. And since the usual clubbing scenery can gat quite boring after a while, we decided to go for some festival right at Chao Phraya river ... great food, interesting music, some trdaditionell Thai shows and fun people.

Khao Yai National Park

To recover from the stressfull life in the urban area of Bangkok, we decided to look for some relieve at the Khao Yai National Park. A great natural reservoir, which heritages tigers, elephants, monkeys, many exotic birds and a lot of other weird stuff ;-)
It was a great trip with a freaky encounter with the owner of our lodge, who is a paranoid Thai with a German husband... anyway, one day of guided hiking and a tour on our own with absolutely trustworthy motorbikes, summed up to a nice, chilling and adventurous trip. Enjoy the pics.

Die weltbekannten Túk-Túks konnten auch an mir nicht unbemerkt vorbei rasen... deshalb die Probe aufs Exempel. Fazit: Das geht definitiv noch schneller!

Introducing Basti in Bangkok

Hallo Freunde, Familie und Bekannte!

Ab sofort könnt ihr hier miterleben was mir in der Stadt der Engel so alles widerfährt.

Am Samstag um 06.20 bin ich angekommen und seit dem habe ich mich schon ordentlich eingelebt. Zu meinem großen Glück wurde ich von Steffi (eine Freundin aus Pforzheim) empfangen... mein Pech war, dass sie mich schon in der Nacht wieder verlassen hat. Danke Steffi für einen wundervollen Tag in Bangkok.
Nach dem Check-Inn ins Appartement haben wir uns gleich auf die Erforschung Bangkoks gemacht. Als erstes gab es einen Besuch auf dem Wochendmarkt "Chatuchak". Wer hier nicht in Versuchung gerät, alles was er an Geld besitzt auszugeben, der leidet wohl an hartnäckiger Shopping-Resistenz. Aber zugegeben, es kann kaum billiger sein, sich von oben bis unten, hinten nach vorn, innen nach außen, einzudecken...
Anschließend gab es die erste abenteuerliche Fahrt mit dem berühmt-berüchtigten Túk-túk. Für Anfänger, aber schon mal ein flotter Einstieg in den bangkoker Verkehr (Video folgt).

Da die Füße nach wenig Schlaf und langen Wegen schmerzten war nichts frohlockender als ein Bootsfahrt auf dem "Khlong Bangkok Noi". Hier kann man total relaxen und das andere Bangkok erleben. Fernab von jedem Stress und Touri-Trubel. Gemütlich sind wir eine Stunde durch die Flußarme geschippert und haben das besondere Leben der Stegbewohner bestaunt...
