Island fever on Ko Samet

Actually this great trip is already a few weeks past now, but I still want to make you a little bit jealous ;-)

Just three hours bus drive away from Bangkok one can find the small and beautiful island of Ko Samet. Maybe not as tropical as the islands farther south but the perfect distance for a long weekend. Unfortunately we weren't able to book any room in advance. Ko Samet is the heritage to a lot of Thai weekend fugitives from the big cities in the area. And since it was a national holiday even more. Thus, we (two other interns and a friend from the company with her friend (oder sollte ich besser freak sagen?)) left Bangkok at 6 in the morning. Which was the right choice, because we actually found a really nice bungalow for a fair price. What was on the agenda? Just relaxing and recovering from the exhausting climate in Thailand's capitol. It turned out to be very easy to follow that plan. Hanging out on the beaches the whole day, eating great and fresh seefood at night before partying next to the breakers with buckets of gin tonic, vodka redbull and strawberry margarita. Sounds familiar? No, the Ballerman is on Majorca!
